Three steps.
No timeline anxiety.

Everything happens on your machine. Recordings, projects and exports stay local.

01

Record

Pick a display, window or region. Add your camera and mic. Swamp Dragon gets out of the way — only a slim bar stays at the top.

02

Edit

A non-destructive multitrack timeline. Apply a skill like “Zoom to click” in one move, or fine-tune every keyframe.

03

Export

MP4 with H.264 or HEVC, presets for YouTube and demos, or a Premiere-ready package with linked media.

Every source, its own track

Screen, webcam, microphone and system audio are recorded separately and stay in sync. Hide the camera, mute a cough, keep the rest.

Cursor-aware zoom

Click metadata turns into smooth zooms, ripples and spotlights. Adjust scale, easing and hold — or draw the zoom by hand.

Webcam, your shape

Circle, rounded or square, with border, shadow, background blur and an entrance — saved as reusable layouts.

Motion titles & captions

Kinetic titles, chapter cards, lower thirds and callouts with 14 entrances and loop motions. Import SRT or WebVTT captions.

Premiere handoff

Export an interchange timeline with linked media and a compatibility report, so cuts and tracks land where you left them.

Plugins, sandboxed

Add effects, transitions and asset packs with clear permissions. No plugin gets your files or your recordings by default.

Motion graphics,
built in.

Arrows, spotlights, kinetic titles, transitions and effects — keyframed with overshoot, bounce and elastic easing. Exactly what you preview is what you export.

Arrows & pulse ringsDraw on, then float or pulse to keep eyes on the target.
SpotlightDim everything else and glide between the things that matter.
Highlight & underlineMarker sweeps and drawn-on underlines for the key phrase.
Kinetic titlesWord-by-word, bounce, zoom and spin entrances, plus loop motion.
Transitions13 transitions on any cut — push, zoom, circle, glitch and more.
Effects & looksShake, glitch, flash, film grain and color looks — timed on their own lane.
The recorder

Out of sight
while you record.

Press record and the app minimizes. A single bar sits at the top edge with time, mic, camera, pause and stop — and it isn’t captured in your video. Open the full app only when you choose to.

Skills: your edits,
saved as recipes.

A skill is a reusable editing workflow. Run a built-in one, or build your own and apply it to every new project.

Optional · Model Context Protocol

Bring your own AI.
We bring the editor.

Connect Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or any MCP host. It reads the timeline you authorize and calls real editing tools — edits appear live and stay undoable. Swamp Dragon includes no AI model and never needs an API key.

Simple pricing.

Limits apply per recording clip. AI usage is billed by the assistant you connect — never by us.

Questions

More answers in the documentation and support guide.

Do I need an AI subscription?

No. Recording, editing and exporting work fully offline without any AI. MCP is optional — if you connect an assistant, you use your own account with that provider.

Will the recorder show up in my video?

No. The app minimizes when you start, and the top recording bar is excluded from capture on systems that support window exclusion.

Where are my recordings stored?

On your computer. Nothing is uploaded automatically — not video, audio, or previews.

Can I keep editing in Premiere Pro?

Yes. Export a Premiere-compatible interchange package with linked media; anything that can’t stay editable is rendered as an overlay and listed in a report.

What happens when a clip hits my plan limit?

You get a warning before the limit, then the recording stops gracefully and the file is saved — nothing is discarded.
